Terms of service

These terms cover your use of Class Cookies at classcookies.com and the game pages on its subdomains. Class Cookies is run by Jacobus Johannes Barnard, a sole trader. By making an account or using the site you agree to them.

What the service is

Class Cookies gives English teachers a set of classroom games and teaching tools that run in a web browser, along with tools for saving class lists, student comments, word lists and sentence lists, and a place to share teaching material with other teachers.

Some tools are free and need no account. The rest need a paid subscription.

Your account

• One account is for one teacher. Please do not share your login.
• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• Give us a real email address, so we can reach you about your subscription.
• You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

Subscriptions and payment

A subscription costs $6.99 a month or $59 a year. One subscription unlocks every game, every tool and all the content.

Payments are handled by Paddle, who are the seller of record for every purchase. Paddle's own terms also apply to the payment itself. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel it.

You can cancel at any time from your account page, without emailing anyone. When you cancel, your subscription runs to the end of the period you have already paid for.

Refunds are covered by the refund policy.

If the price changes

We may change our prices. If you already subscribe, you keep the price you signed up at for as long as your subscription stays active. A price change applies to new subscribers, not to you.

What happens if your subscription ends

You keep everything you made. Your classes, students, comments, scores, word lists and sentence lists stay in your account and you can still read them. You cannot add new ones until you subscribe again. We do not delete a teacher's work because they stopped paying.

Using the service properly

Please do not:

• Share your account with other teachers, or sell access to it
• Copy our content and republish it or sell it
• Upload anything illegal, harmful, or not suitable for children
• Upload material that belongs to someone else without their permission
• Try to break, overload or get around the security of the service
• Use automated tools to download our content in bulk

Our students are roughly 7 to 16 years old. Anything you share on the platform has to be suitable for that age group.

What you share

You keep ownership of anything you upload or post. By posting it on Class Cookies you give us permission to store it and show it to other teachers on the platform, for as long as you leave it there.

We can remove anything that breaks these terms, and we can suspend an account that keeps breaking them. If we remove something of yours we will tell you why.

Availability

We work to keep the service running, but we cannot promise it will never be unavailable. We may take it down for maintenance, and we may change or remove features. If we remove something significant that you pay for, we will tell you.

Our responsibility

Class Cookies is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, for lost data where you had a way to keep your own copy, or for anything outside our reasonable control. Nothing here limits any right you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

If we are found responsible for something, our total responsibility is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it happened.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Class Cookies at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and we will tell you why.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top, and we will email you if the change is a significant one.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If we cannot settle a disagreement between us, the courts of the Republic of Korea will handle it. This does not remove any protection you have under the law of the country you live in.
